This is a two piece badge made of cast metal. The top looks like the cross used by fire departments but with symbols in each of the arms of the cross. The top look like a sunburst while the two side arms have angels and the bottom arm has shaking hands. At center is the year “1904.”

Suspended from this top piece is a disk with a GAR Membership badge at center. Around the edges is “G. A. R. AND POTOMAC DAY – HARTFORD, CONN.” At center the G. A. R. badge is flanked by the dates “MAY 18 & 19.”

Reverse has original pin. Item is in good condition.
