Small shield shaped badge measures approx. 7/8” x 7/8”. Small circular hole top with one chain link. Affixed by a wire to a small cardboard mount for display purposes. Engraving reads, “J. A. / ZUNDEL / MT; / PLEASANT / PA."
Listed as John M. Zundel in online references (and as John M. Zundell in the pension index), he enlisted on 3/2/64 as a Private and on that date was mustered into Co. B, 28th Pennsylvania Infantry. Mustered out while Absent Sick on 7/18/65 at Washington, D.C.
