Badge consists of four bars and a bullion tassel. Each bar is suspended from the one above it by a single link on each end. All of the bars have a black outline with scroll designs on the ends.
At the top is a black and white cloth bow that is sewn to the badge with a pin on the reverse. The top bar is stamped “CO.H” while the second bar is stamped with the number “92.” The third bar is stamped “ILLINOIS” and at the very bottom is a bar stamped “VOL.
