This reunion medal features the top hangar in the shape of the engineer symbol. Sewn to a bar on reverse of hangar is a red silk ribbon with white lettering that reads, “45TH ANNUAL REUNION ENGINEER BRIGADE, ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, GENEVA, N.Y. AUG. 20, 1915”. Original pin is present on reverse of hangar and fully functions. Maker’s mark is engraved here as well, but is indistinguishable except for, “NEWARK, N.J.”.
Reverse of silk ribbon has a label from The Whitehead & Hoag Co. of Newark, N.J.
Medal is 2” wide. Ribbon is 3” long. Some of the lettering has slightly faded but is still readable. Some fringe at bottom of ribbon is missing. [sm]
