White ribbon with red printing. Ribbon is topped by a stamped brass scalloped frame with the original pin on the reverse.
The lettering on the ribbon reads “14TH NEW YORK HEAVY ARTILLERY VETERAN ASSOCIATION TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL REUNION AUGUST 17-18 1910 AT BOONVILLE, N.Y.”
The ribbon has light scattered surface dirt but is otherwise nice. Reverse has original paper maker’s label.
The regiment was organized in Rochester, New York on August 1, 1863 and assigned to the 9th Corps with whom it served till the end of the war. The regiment served as infantry and suffered heavily at Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, the first assault on Petersburg, the Crater and Fort Steadman. By the wars end the regiment had lost 527 men killed and died of wounds and disease.
The regiment was mustered out at Washington, D.C. on August 26, 1865. [AD]
