Silver teaspoon with a raised decoration throughout.
The bowl has a silhouette of a battleship with the wording “U.S. BATTLESHIP MAINE” above it with “DESTROYED FEB. 15, 1898” below it.
The tip of the spoon has a bust in profile of the ship’s Captain, Charles Dwight Sigsbee. Moving down the handle there is an anchor followed by a US shield and some scrollwork.
The back of the spoon is marked “STANDARD.”
The spoon is in nice condition with only some light surface dirt from age and storage. [ad]
