White ribbon measuring approximately 2” wide x 7” long suspended from a metal hanger with pin back. Celluloid face of this ornate brass hanger reads “COMMITTEE”. Ribbon reads, “19TH ANNUAL REUNION OF THE 47TH REGIM’T PA. VET. VOLS. POCOTALIGO, OCTOBER 22, 1862. EASTON, PA. OCTOBER 22, 1891.” A red 19th Corps badge is printed between the first two lines. The ribbon is clean and in solid condition with clear printing.
The 47th PA. Infantry was organized at Harrisburg August and September, 1861. Fought at Frampton's Plantation and Pocotaligo Bridge, the Red River Campaign, Sabine Cross Roads, Sheridan's Shenandoah Valley Campaign, Winchester, Fisher's Hill, and Cedar Creek. Mustered out December 25, 1865. The regiment’s losses were: 5 officers and 112 enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and
3 officers and 170 enlisted men by disease. Total 290. [jet]
