White ribbon, darkened to a dark cream with age, with red printing. The ribbon meas. approx. 1.75 inches wide x 6.00 inches long including the twisted bullion tassels at bottom. At top is “19TH CORPS” in two lines with a large Corps badge at bottom. The top edge of the ribbon has some wear.

The 19th Corps was formed December 14, 1862 and served mostly in Louisiana and the Gulf area. It saw action later in the Shenandoah Valley. Some of their actions are Baton Rouge; Georgia Landing; Bayou Teche; Fort Bisland; Irish Bend; Plains' Store; Assault On Port Hudson, May 27th; Assault On Port Hudson, June 14th; Port Hudson Trenches; Thibodeaux ; Brashear City; Donaldsonville; Sabine Cross Roads; Pleasant Hill; Cane River; Cloutierville; Alexandria; Mansura; Yellow Bayou; Atchafalaya; Berryville; Opequon; Fisher's Hill and Cedar Creek. The Corps was officially disbanded on March 25, 1865.  [ad]
