Nice stylized 18th Corps silver badge with a chased herringbone border with each arm having a bump out at center.

Engraved at center of the badge is “1ST” for 1st Division.

Badge meas. approx. 1.08 x 1.08 inches.

Reverse has a “T” bar pin that is slightly bent but operates properly.

The 18th Corps was created on Christmas Eve 1862 and consisted of units operating in North Carolina. The Corps was engaged in several actions in North Carolina and southeast Virginia as well as Bermuda Hundred and Drewry’s Bluff before being ordered to support the Army of the Potomac. They were engaged at Cold Harbor and throughout the Petersburg Campaign.  [ad]
