Top bar is stamped “16th N.H.V.” Bar is decorated around its edges with a linear design. Back has the pin and a bar for suspending a ribbon that is now gone. Suspended from the top bar is a Maltese cross with an octagon at center. Cross is plain except for linear design that matches the top bar. Item is made of silver and is in very good condition.

The 16th New Hampshire was a 9-month regiment that served in the siege and capture of Port Hudson, LA.
