The top bar of this piece is brass with an oval at center flanked by a riband that reads “OLD GUARD” over a scalloped background. The central oval shows a Minuteman standing between two tents surrounded by a riband with 16 stars. The reverse of this top piece still has the original pin.
A solid red ribbon that meas. approx. 2.00 inches long x 1.08 inch wide is suspended from the top bar. The ribbon has some minor wear or fraying near the bottom. Suspended from this ribbon is a circular drop of brass. The drop design consists of an oak wreath with a US shield superimposed over crossed rifles and an anchor. A riband passes behind the shield and bears the letters “O” “G” with one letter being placed on each side of the shield.
Reverse of the drop is blank.
There is no maker’s mark visible anywhere on the piece.
