This badge was worn by all members of the GAR.
The top bar is a spread-winged eagle over crossed cannons and a stack of cannonballs. The reverse of the eagle has the pin but the catch is slightly bent so the pin will not fasten.
The ribbon is in the pattern of the US flag and is in good condition with light surface dirt and some minor edge fraying.
The drop is a five-pointed star with the GAR seal at center. The reverse of the star has all the different Corps badges and branch insignia of all the Union armies. The brass drop and eagle have a matching patina.
