153RD PENNSYLVANIA REUNION RIBBON

White ribbon darkened to yellow with age, measuring approximately 2” wide x 7 1/2” long suspended from a metal hanger with pin back. Face of this hanger reads “MEMBER”. Ribbon features a photo of an unknown man and reads, “153d REGIMENT PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEERS EASTON, PA. SEPTEMBER 19, 1914” in gold printing. Gold fringe, 1 ½” long, hangs from the bottom of the ribbon. The entire ribbon is clean and in solid condition with clear printing. A paper label is sewn to the back with the ribbon manufacturer’s information.

The 153rd was organized at Easton, PA in September, 1862.  Attached to 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 11th Corps, Army of the Potomac, in July, 1863. The unit duty in the Defense of Washington, D. C. and then fought in the battles of Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. They mustered out of service on July 24, 1863. The regiment lost 1 officer and 48 enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 28 enlisted men by disease, for a total 77.  [jet]
