Lot contains three large log books which list members and financial records. Brown cloth-bound book is inscribed inside, “G.A.R. Post #1, 1897 thru 1908”. Measures 8” x 13”. Cover is distressed, but binding is tight. Red marbled covered ledger is labeled inside, “LEDGER, MORTON POST NO. 1, G.A.R. TERRE HAUTE IND”. Back cover and final few pages have come loose from the spine but most are tightly bound. Measures 8” x 13”. Brown marbled covered book is labeled on the front cover, “LEDGER, MORTON RELIEF CORPS NO. 11, DEPARTMENT OF INDIANA, WOMAN’S RELIEF CORPS, AUXILLARY TO THE GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC”. Measures 8 ½” x 11”. Blue covered book features an image of a G.A.R. ribbon with medal and is dated 1886-87. Cover and pages are all loose. Measures 8” x 10 ¾”.
Also included in this lot are three small payment receipt books from Morton’s Women’s Relief Corps dating from 1913-1921 and a stack of envelopes which contain payment receipts. [sm]
