Top hanger features laurel and olive branches, crossed rifles, and in the center “GAR” and the GAR seal. Original pin is on reverse. A red ribbon is suspended from the upper component. “REPRESENTATIVE” is printed in gold on the ribbon. Suspended from this is a thick round medal with a man’s bust on the front. The reverse reads, “48th ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT / DEPT NY. G.A.R. / ROCHESTER, N.Y. / JUNE 9-11, 1914 / SAMUEL C. PIERCE / DEPT. COMMANDER”. Entire length measures 4”. In very good condition. [jet]
