Top hangar of this two-piece medal features a spread-winged eagle perched on crossed cannons and patriotic shield, with, “G.A.R.” on the bar. Original pin is present on reverse. Suspended from hangar is a red, white and blue striped silk ribbon with attached medal that features an image of Major D.F. Allen. Below this is a G.A.R. star and applied clear stone with the wording, “45TH ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT / DEPT. OF INDIANA 1924 / FRANKFORT / THE GEM CITY”.
Red, white and blue striped silk ribbon hangs behind medals. Gold gilt lettering reads, “DELEGATE”.
Measures 5 ¼” long. Ribbon shows light surface dirt. No fraying. [sl]
