Red, white, and blue ribbon measuring approximately 1 1/2” wide x 3” long suspended from a rectangular brass hanger with pin back. On the face of this hanger is “GAR” hand painted in gold with a black shadow. The ribbon reads, “LAFAYETTE 217 POST”. Printing is in gold. There is some wear to the printing. A 1 ¼” diameter copper disk is suspended from the end of the ribbon. This disk features a G.A.R. medal on one side and an unknown building on the other. This is a nice, early GAR pin. [jet]
