This is a high quality sword belt, probably worn by an Officer in the G.A.R. The 1 ¾ inch wide belt is folded and stitched from light tan glove leather. It has a brass adjusting buckle and three adjustable decorative sword chains with hooks made from brass. Attaching decorated brass rings together makes each chain. The buckle is a copy of the regulation 1851 officer's belt plate.
