Badge was presented by Lafayette Post No. 140 of New York to members of Meade Post No. 1 of Philadelphia, PA and Kinsley Post of Boston, Massachusetts. The Lafayette Post had previously been the guests of the other posts, so they were the host of this gathering and banquet in New York. There are detailed descriptions of the event online, and we have included a printed article with this item.
Bronze badge shows a top hangar bar with the date. Suspended from this is a medal with crossed flags surmounted by a spread-winged eagle and the three post names. Upon this rests a miniature G.A.R. badge. Behind medal is a red, white and blue grosgrain ribbon.
Measures 2 ½” long. Ribbon has yellowed with age and is torn at the bottom. Pin is missing on reverse but hook is present. [sl]
