The first item in this little group is a white ribbon with black printing. The ribbon meas. approx. 5.50 inches long x 1.75 inches wide. Attached at top is a tamped brass ribbon made to look like a bow. This has a pin on the back. Lettering reads “N. H. VETERANS’ ASSOCIATION-THE WEIRS SEPT. 3-6, 1895.” At center is a bust view of a Colonel with “CAMP ALEXANDER GARDNIER” below it. Ribbon has light surface dirt but is in good condition.

The second item is a card in the shape of a kepi with “N.H.V. A.” in gold lettering on the disc. Reverse of the card is blank.

Alexander Gardiner was Colonel of the 14^th New Hampshire. He was wounded September 19, 1864 at Opequan, Virginia and died of his wounds on October 8^th. He was promoted to Brigadier General by Brevet for his service with his rank to date from the day of his wounding.
