Instituted on 15 January 1943, the “Afrika” cuff band was a campaign award worn by German personnel who had served in North Africa for a period of six months or longer. The six month requirement was waived if the service member was wounded in action. All branches of service were eligible for this award. This band has been removed from a uniform. It is 14 inches in length and in excellent condition.
