Original German campaign sleeve insignia.  Instituted on 15 January 1943, the “Afrika” cuffband was awarded to members of the German armed forces who participated in the campaign in North Africa, 1941 – 1943.  To qualify, the recipient had to serve six months in Africa, though the time requirement was waived for soldiers wounded in action.  This cuffband has been removed from a uniform.  It is in excellent condition.
