The “Wehrpass” or “SERVICE RECORD” book meas. approx. 4.25 x 5.75 inches and runs 56 pages. These were kept by a headquarters unit and were not carried by the soldier personally. Many pages are filled in and stamped. Cardboard cover is grayish-green and has an eagle and swastika over the word “WEHRPASS.” Each book comes with a photograph of the subject person attached to the inside front cover.

This book is for Karl Klein from Zweibrucken who was born August 22, 1918. He entered the army on June 20, 1938. He served in the Reich Labor Service until June of 1940 when he was assigned to Armored Rifleman Replacement Company 36 until 1941 when he was transferred to a field replacement battalion. Klein was assigned as a truck driver in the 441st Company where he served until 1943 when he was sent to a Medical Replacement Company where he remained until discharged in April of 1944. At the time he was a Feldwebel or Sergeant.

During his service Klein earned the Russian Front or Ost Medal on July 18, 1942 and the War Service Cross 2nd Class on April 20, 1943.

Item is in overall good condition with light wear on the covers.  [ad]
