This grenade has a wooden handle that is in very nice condition with no visible markings. Unlike other grenades this one does not have the usual screw cap and string pull primer at the bottom of the handle. It does have the usual grenade head but this one has a sleeve around it and what appears to be a percussion detonator at top. The top of the grenade head is stamped “44 EVV” and the top of the fuse is marked either “OXX” or “NXX” over “44.” The head appears to have been painted a dark green as is the sleeve.
