The Pederson device allowed a forty round stick magazine to be attached to the Model 1903 Springfield increasing the individual infantry man’s rate of fire. The device was put into production but the war ended and orders for the device were cancelled.
The pouch offered here was for carrying 5 forty round stick magazines on the infantryman’s rifle belt. It is in unissued condition and is stamped “R. I. A. 6-19” in two lines near the top edge under the flap. The flap was secured at the side with a lift-dot type button.
