Canvas cover for use on the 1903 Springfield bolt action rifle. The canvas is in good condition with moderate surface dirt scattered throughout. The underside is marked in one corner “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL” while an opposite corner is marked “PLACE OVER COCKING PIECE.” One end of the cover has three gathered seams for wrapping around the bolt while the front end wraps around the stock forward of the receiver. Only one leather string tie remains.
