WORLD WAR TWO GERMAN DOUBLE DECAL LUFTWAFFE HELMET

$895.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 814-03

Helmet is the Model 1935 with rolled edge and rivet type air vents.

Helmet is painted a dark gray color. The left side has the Luftwaffe decal of which 98% remains with a bit of scraping to the swastika. The right side has the national shield decal with minor scratches and dirt with some minor chipping along the bottom edge.

The exterior paint is very thin and worn on the top of the crown with numerous chips along the sides. These imperfections are moderated by the dark base color of the helmet which helps in presenting a better look for display. All three liner rivets are present. The rolled edge shows some minor wear.

The interior of the helmet has paint that matches the exterior in color. The leather liner has darkened with age and use and exhibits some staining from sweat. The crown has eight tongues drawn together by the original drawstring. Chinstrap keepers are present but chinstrap is gone. The front interior edge has the name “MINNI” in white paint.

The left side of the shell is marked on the inside “SE62” which means the helmet was manufactured by the Sächsische Emaillier factory in Lauter, Germany and is a size 62 centimeters. In 1943 the company changed their letter designation on helmets from “SE” to “hkp” so the marking on this helmet gives it a pre-1943 production date. The Sächsische Emaillier factory was the second largest helmet production center during the war. The back skirt of the helmet bears lot number “3770.”

This is a nice untouched veteran helmet in good overall condition.
