Complete bridle with 28th Division insignia rosettes. Leather exhibits slight cracking, else supple and VG. Brass buckles & rings lightly tarnished. Else VG.

Comprised of Pennsylvania troops, the US 28th became known as the “Keystone” division, later earning a nickname as “The Iron Division” following its stirring performance at Chateau Thierry. The 28th was also engaged in the Meuse-Argonne. During WWI it suffered 14,139 casualties--2,165 killed and 11,974 wounded.  Fine WWI “Keystone” division collectible.

TWO PIECE CS TONGUE AND WREATH PLATE ON THE ORIGINAL BELT

Sandcast two-piece plate in excellent condition. Tongue is slightly convex with a good, clear “C’ and an “S” that has a flaw in the upper serif. Wreath has pronounced detail. Both pieces have a matching patina. The leather belt is in nice… (846-107). Learn More »
