Complete bridle with 28th Division insignia rosettes. Leather exhibits slight cracking, else supple and VG. Brass buckles & rings lightly tarnished. Else VG.
Comprised of Pennsylvania troops, the US 28th became known as the “Keystone” division, later earning a nickname as “The Iron Division” following its stirring performance at Chateau Thierry. The 28th was also engaged in the Meuse-Argonne. During WWI it suffered 14,139 casualties--2,165 killed and 11,974 wounded. Fine WWI “Keystone” division collectible.
