WORLD WAR TWO GERMAN SINGLE DECAL LUFTWAFFE HELMET

$700.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 922-08

Helmet is the Model 1942 with rolled edge and impressed air vents.

Helmet is painted a light gray color. The left side has the Luftwaffe decal of which 95% remains with a bit of scraping to the right wing. Exterior paint shows some wear on the crown in the form of light surface rust. All three liner rivets are present.

The interior of the helmet has paint that matches the exterior in color with a light dusting of surface dirt. The leather liner is light brown in color with some light edge wear. The crown has eight tongues drawn together by a white cord. All the tongues of the liner are complete and one is stamped with the head size “56.” Chinstrap keepers are present but chinstrap is gone.

The inside left of the skirt under the chinstrap keeper is lightly stamped with “Q64” while the back of the skirt has lot number “N153.” Inside of crown has the faint remains of a dome stamp.

The letter “Q” on the size shows the marker was Quist. This firm was located Just outside Stuttgart in the city of Esslingen on the Neckar River. Helmet was manufactured before 1943 as after that time the maker mark was moved to the rear of the skirt.

A very nice example of a World War Two German helmet.   [ad]
