The drawn bayonet meas. approx. 11.50 inches long from point to pommel. The parkerized blade itself is approx. 6 9/16 inches long. It has a spearpoint with a true edge that shows signs of sharpening and several small nicks. The last 3.50 inches of the top edge is also sharpened. Blade is unmarked and is clean.

At the base of the blade is an elliptical iron guard with a muzzle ring that is marked “USM4” over “CASE.” Grip is made of ribbed leather. The metal pommel cap is grooved and holds the attachment mechanism.

Bayonet comes in the original green hard plastic scabbard with an iron throat marked “US M8A1” over “B M CO.” Scabbard has a green woven canvas frog with retention straps made of the same material. The straps snap over the grip of the bayonet to hold it in place.

The overall condition of the item is very good. As mentioned, the blade shows some signs of sharpening and the scabbard exhibits light surface dirt. Retention strap snap shows some surface rust.  [ad]
