A noted regiment in George Custer’s Civil War Michigan cavalry Brigade, the 7th Michigan was engaged in the famed Cavalry fight with Jeb Stuart’s troopers at Gettysburg. Also participated in Kilpatrick’s Richmond Raid, and numerous other actions including Yellow Tavern, The Wilderness, Cedar Creek and Five Forks.
