The full title of this work is “ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNION ARMY 1861-1865” by Fred Albert Shannon, Ph.D. The work was originally published in 1928 by the Arthur H. Clark Company, this is the 1965 reprint done by Peter Smith of Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Books are hardbound with red cloth covers and the title embossed in black on the spine. The books did not come with dustjackets.

Each volume meas. approx.5.50x 8.25 inches with Volume 1 running 323 pages and Volume 2 running 348 pages with index.
