The full title of this volume is “HISTORY OF THE PITTSBURGH WASHINGTON INFANTRY – 102ND (OLD 13TH) REGIMENT PENNSYLVANIA VETERAN VOLUNTEERS AND ITS FOREBEARS” by John H. Niebaum who was the regimental historian from 1870-1931.

The book has chapters relating to the history of the Pittsburgh Light Infantry from 1792-1809, Pittsburgh Blues from 1809 -1820, Jackson Independent Blues 1820-1861 and the Washington Infantry during the Civil War (in which they were the 102nd Pennsylvania), Spanish-American War and World War One.

Volume is hardcover and bound in blue cloth with the title embossed in gold on the front cover and spine. Front cover also has an embossed 6th Corps badge with “102” at center. The book meas. approx. 7.50 x 10.50 and runs 325 pages with roster.

Both the exterior and the interior are in good condition with some minor surface dirt on the back cover. However, someone clipped out the center portion of page 243 which covers events relating to the regiment in 1902-1903. Other than that, the volume is good.   [AD] [PH:L]
