Among the top three books on Connecticut’s overall part in the Civil War is this book “CONNECTICUT FOR THE UNION” by John Niven and published by Yale University Press, New Haven, Connecticut in 1965.

Volume is hardbound with an illustrated dust jacket in excellent condition. Very first page is signed in ink by the author with the date of 1987. The book meas. approx. 6.50 x 9.50 and runs 493 pages with index.

Interior is clean and the binding is very good. The book is illustrated by several pages of black & white images of statesmen and soldiers.

The book covers the military, social, political and economic aspects of the states contributions to the war.
