The full title of this volume is “HISTORY OF THE FIFTY-SEVENTH REGIMENT PENNSYLVANIA VETERAN VOLUNTEER INFANTRY. FIRST BRIGADE FIRST DIVISION, THIRD CORPS AND SECOND BRIGADE, THIRD DIVISION, SECOND CORPS ARMY OF THE POTOMAC” compiled by the regimental history committee.

The history was originally published in 1904. This reprint was done by Belle Grove Publishing Company  of Kearny, New Jersey in 1995.

Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 5.50 x 8.50 inches and runs 230 pages including the unpaginated roster and index. The volume also has 26 black & white photographs of members of the regiment.

Dustjacket is excellent and the interior is exceptionally clean.

The 57th Pennsylvania was organized in December of 1861 and served in the 3rd and 2nd Corps of the Army of the Potomac. They saw action on the Peninsula, 2nd Bull Run, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Cold Harbor, throughout the siege of Petersburg and the Appomattox Campaign. In total the regiment lost 12 officers and 366 enlisted men killed and died of wounds and disease.  [AD] [PH:L]
