Apothecary bottles like this are very scarce in blue.  This is a fine example with its original tin top. These were used to store dry ingredients for medicinal use. There is minimal bubbling on the sides of the jar from age.  On the front of the jar there is a recess for the label that measures 4” long and 2” wide.  At the base of the jar reads “PARIS P.L DEPOSE,” French manufacturers label.  The stamp “Paris” was common for items manufactured for pharmaceutical purposes.  The jar measures 8 1/8” and is 3 ½” round, and has a straight neck.  [mk] [ph:m]
