An original piece of Confederate money, being the $5 CSA T-69 bill featuring the State Capitol building in Richmond in the center of the bill, and Confederate Secretary of the Treasury, C.G. Memminger in lower, right corner. Engraved and printed by Keatinge & Ball of Columbia, SC.  Dated February 17th 1864.  Plate letter, A.  Hand serial numbered, 68902. No series. Ornate design in blue/green on reverse; has a large “5” in an oval at each corner and “FIVE” in large letters at center.

Has ink/staining along upper edge on both sides of paper; light soiling throughout. [ld]
