The Confederate Government of Wythe County, Virginia issued this allotment check, numbered 960 on the back and dated January 14th, 1864 to Mary Loflin in the amount of one and a “______ cotton[?]” for the family of Harrison Loflin, a soldier in the 51st Virginia Regiment.  Signed by A Hamilton[?], Comr. H [?] district. Countersigned on the reverse, “Mary Loflin”.

On 4/9/1862 Loflin mustered into "B" Co., 51st VA.  Date and method of discharge not given.  He was listed as: POW 3/2/1865 Waynesboro, VA; Confined 3/12/1865 Fort Delaware, DE; Released 6/20/1865 Fort Delaware, DE. [ld] [ph:L]
