Cover has a postmark for Indianapolis, Ind. Aug. 29, 1949 and is addressed to a woman in Evergreen, Colorado.

Left side of the envelope is decorated with “GAR” in a wreath and “FINAL ENCAMPMENT GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC.” At bottom is a short history of the GAR. All is done in blue ink.

Upper right hand corner has a 3 cent stamp showing a subdued bust of a young Union soldier with a stronger bust of a GAR Veteran in front. Stamp is canceled with “FIRST DAY OF ISSUE.”
