Vol. V—No. 228. 16pp., [289-304], 4 columns, numerous attractive lithographs, including a center-fold spread of the Federal destruction of the Norfolk Navy before its abandonment to Confederate forces. cover page features Cover page lithographs and stories of Col. Ellsworth of the New York Fires Zouaves and Col. William Wilson of the 6th N.Y. Infantry [“Wilson’s Zouaves”]. Col. Ellsworth would be ambushed and killed by shotgun Alexandria’s Marshall House before the end of the month. Col. Wilson’s 6th NY Zouave Regt. would serve its two year enlistment in Florida.

In good condition; horizontal fold line. Slight yellowing on front page, scattered foxing spots, minor edge wear. Pages were bound together so that they are not even at the top and bottom. Comes in protective sleeve, with white card backing. Attractive collective, fine display piece.  [jp]
