Front cover features cover story and illustration depicting the destruction of the Confederate “Albemarle” at Plymouth, North Carolina, October 27, 1864- Also a portrait of Lt. William B. Cushing, USN,   officer-in-charge of the Union raiding party  that destroyed it. Interior illustrations include numerous other battle scenes: [1] “General Terry’s Corps Engaging the Rebel Works On The Darbytown Road, [2] “Capture of Rebel Fort In Front of Petersburg By the One Hundred and forty Eighth Pennsylvania”,  [3] “Armstrong Mills and Rebel Works on Hatcher’s Run, Captured By the Second Corps, October 27, 1864”, [4] “General Crawford Conducting Rebel Prisoners To His Rear, October 27, 1864”, [5] “General Hood’s Attack on  Allatoona, October 5, 1864.”

Exhibits mounting dots and light chipping along cover left margin, plus faint fold-marks. Else VG plus, w/ smooth cover. Solid issue, crammed with superb illustrations. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing. [JP][ph:L]
