Printed and published at the U.S. Army General Hospital in West Philadelphia. Eight pages, 7 ½” x 10 ½”.
Filled with stories of general interest, songs, puzzles, and advertisements, similar to an 1860s “Reader’s Digest.” This was a good week as only two deaths were listed: Jacob Leibfried, 73rd PA & David Martin, 137th PA. Also there is a complete list of the sick and wounded admitted into the hospital for the week.
Condition of paper stock is good with a few small tears along the spine. This issue appears to have been stitched into a large volume at one time and since separated.
An interesting example of what the soldiers read while recuperating. [jet] [ph:L]
