Front features a full page, panoramic depiction of “General Sherman’s Advance—Buzzard’s Roost Pass, Georgia.” Interior illustrations include sketches of the “Departure of the Union Fleet From Newport News, Virginia, On May 5, 1864.”, and the “Arrival of General Butler’s Advance at City Point, VA, On May 5, 1864.” Also a dramatic centerfold, titled “Retribution Will Surely Be Given…A. Lincoln,” featuring Fort Pillow, “Gen. Forrest Shooting A Free Mulatto, “ and other Rebel atrocities, real or imagined.
