Front cover features full length sketch of “Lieutenant–General Grant Visiting General Scott at Cozzen’s Hotel, West Point, June 8, 1865, w/inside story. Interior illustrations include a marching scene—“Johnnie Comes Marching Home,” and a full page sketch of “Sheridan and His Generals” sitting round a table, w/Wesley Merritt and George Custer and George Crook. Also a huge center-spread montage—“Our Arms Victorious”—commemorating Union veterans “Homeward Bound.”
