Triangular socket bayonet with a blade that meas. approx. 19 3/8 inches long from the shoulder to the point with a socket that meas. approx. 2 11/16 inches long, not including the knuckle. Iron has a dark patina throughout with light surface pitting in areas.
Fastening mechanism is missing. Side of the socket is stamped with “1855” as well as some other indistinct numbers. Side of the knuckle is stamped with a crown over “W.” [ad]
