This bayonet model can be fitted to either a M1835 flintlock musket and/or M1842 percussion musket.  The bayonet is bright with ‘U.S’ clearly stamped on the face flat. The blade measures 18” and the socket is just shy of 3” measuring 2 ¾”. Locking ring moves smoothly and screw is in good condition. Typical of this model bayonet is a ‘zig zag’ mortise, which is also present on this item.

Good addition for any collector looking for earlier accoutrement pieces.  [MK] [ph:L]
