This brass handled saber bayonet measures approximately 27 ½” overall with a 22 ½” long blade. Manufactured at Harpers Ferry and so unmarked except for inspector’s initials “PB / P” on the ricasso. Fuller is nearly 17 ½” long. Blade is mostly bright with scattered darker patches. There are no nicks on the blade.
The hilt is cast brass. The patina is a dim yellow. The cross guard, ribbed grip, and locking spring in the handle are all in excellent condition. [jet] [ph:m]
