This is a standard Model 1855 socket bayonet for .58cal rifle muskets.  The bayonet blade measures 18” and has ‘US’ stamped on the flat shank. There are no clear makers’ marks.  The socket measures 3” and the ring runs smoothly. Screw on ring is in good condition.  Overall the blade and socket have a dark patina.  [mk] [ph:L]
