VERY NICE US 1905 SPRINGFIELD BAYONET WITH WORLD WAR TWO US NAVY SCABBARD

The blade on this bayonet is in excellent condition. Its blued finish is near perfect and the true edge is free of nicks and shows no signs of sharpening or pitting. Blade meas. approx. 15.75 inches long with a central fuller that runs approx. 12.25 inches. One side of the ricasso is marked “S A” for Springfield Arsenal over a bursting bomb over “1911” while the opposite side is marked “US” over “482150.”

Elliptical guard and muzzle ring have a worn blue finish. Wood grips show light wear. Bird head pommel is metal and has slot for attaching to the rifle with working catch.

OD green fiberglass scabbard is in good condition with metal throat marked “USN” over “MK1.” Reverse of the throat has two hooks for attaching to the web belt.  [ad]  [ph:m]
