The US military did acquire a small number of the Remington-Lee Rifles with various modifications between 1882 and 1885, with the US Army purchasing 770 of the rifles and the US Navy purchasing about 1,500. These rifles were delivered with socket bayonets.

This example of a Remington-Lee socket bayonet is in excellent condition. The bayonet has an 18” long blade and is approximately 21" long overall. The socket is 3" long. Strongly stamped "US" on the flat of the blade.

The bayonet has a bright finish with a blued locking ring. Excellent condition overall.  [jet] [ph:L]
